Get ready to fall hard for Rush…
Fallen Too Far introduced us to Rush Finlay, the gorgeous charming son of a famous rock star, and Blaire Wynn, the girl from Alabama who rode into Rosemary Beach, Florida, in a pick-up truck with a gun under the seat looking for her estranged father. United under one roof by the surprising marriage of their parents, Rush and Blaire couldn't hate each other more. But it only took a summer to for everything to change…
Fallen Too Far was Blaire's story. Now it's time for Rush to share his side, and for readers to fall all over again!
I was excited to read this book. I’d not read an Abbi Glines novel. I met her a few months ago and she was so incredibly lovely. Very sweet and down to earth.
This book is the story of Rush and Blaire and contains the events of Fallen Too Far. The difference is Fallen Too Far was from Blaire’s perspective and Rush Too Far is all about Rush. No previous knowledge of this series or characters are necessary to enjoy this book. I’ve read companion novels before where we get to see the other side of the story but never have I read the male view of things before reading that of the woman.
To be honest I think I would have enjoyed this novel more had I already known the characters and got to see Rush though Blaire’s eyes. Rush is rather crude and crass at times. He’s preoccupied with how innocent Blaire is and how he doesn’t want to taint how pure she is. But then in the same thought thinking of all the dark and depraved things he wants to do to her. Don’t get me wrong – it’s pretty hot but I couldn’t quite understand why Blaire wanted him. Their relationship seemed to be based on the idea of who Rush thinks Blaire is and how badly he wants to be with her.
Their chemistry is off the charts. The best parts of this novel are the scenes where these two are together – whether it be catching the other in a compromising situation or how lovely they are when they are finally act on their feelings. Rush is a little rough around the edges but once you get past his preoccupation with Blaire’s purity, he is an interesting and complicated character. His relationships with women, his siblings and his mother are all rather complex and they go a long way to explain his somewhat twisted view of women and the way the world works.
It took me a little while to get into this book but by the end – I wanted more! I finished it last night and today I rushed out to buy Never Too Far because I can’t help but want to know what happens next for Blaire and Rush and I want to know now!
If you enjoy steamy new adult novels with a different kind of narrator and a family which put the fun in dysfunctional – this book is for you. There are characters to fall in love with, some to despise and a romance which isn’t conventional and will keep you wondering just what is install for these young lovers.
