Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join.
This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books I Recommend The Most
I don’t so much recommend books as thrust them at people and urge them to read them because I loved them so much. I bought a dozen copies of Cinder, Blood Song and Divergent last year as Christmas gifts as I wanted people to like my favourite books.
So here are a few of the books I recommend for people.
If you like Magical Boarding Schools then I’d suggest you check out:
- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead [my review]
- Harry Potter by JK Rowling
- Mythos Academy by Jennifer Estep [my review]
If Contemporary stories that tug at the heart-strings are up your alley, think about reading:
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green [my review]
- Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher [my review]
- Dear Cassie by Lisa Burstein [my review]
If sci-fi multiple souls sharing a single body stories tickle your fancy, check out:
- What’s Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1) by Kat Zhang [my review]
- The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer
Stories with adventure and a kick-arse heroine I recommend are:
- Divergent by Veronica Roth [my review]
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas [my review]
- Healer series by Maria V. Snyder [my review]
And just to round out my list for this week – Kate’s all time favourite adult UF/PNR series:
- The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward (Sorry to include this one but I’m just way too excited about the release of the eleventh book, Lover at Last, this week!)
Considering these are all books I enjoyed reading, would any of you be able to recommend some books for me based on my recommendations? Link me up to your Top Ten Tuesdays and as always – comments are most welcome 🙂
I really need to read Divergent soon! 🙂 My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/03/25/mostrecommended/
Alice @ Alice in Readerland
I loved it. It’s dystopian and got a fantastic heroine. I think if you liked The Hunger Games then you’d like Divergent. Thanks for commenting! 😀
I’m reading The Host right now! I loved VA and HP. I couldn’t put down 13 Reasons Why. This really is a great list. -Melissa @ Harley Bear Book Blog
Thanks! That’s so kind of you to say. I really enjoyed the Host – which surprised me considering my feelings towards Twilight. I have already bought my tickets for the film to see this coming weekend. I’m excited!!
Yes! I LOVED TFiOS, Vampire Academy, Harry Potter (duh), and Touch Of Power! Fantastic list!
My Top Ten Tuesday. Y’know, if you feel like checking it out. 🙂
-Kelly
I think I need to read more Maria V. Snyder books. I loved Touch of Power Also need to read more John Green. Do you have any recommendations? So far only read TFiOS. Thanks for visiting.
I am beyond excited for The Host the move!!! What’s Left Of Me was pretty good, too.
I’m excited for the movie too! I do hope that she eventually writes another book in the series. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
My goodness! It’s like I wrote your TTT! hahaha. Am currently reading Lover Enshrined, so BDB series is really commendable. 😀
my TTT
Oohh… Phury’s story! Hope you’re enjoying it! I have to admit that I have a favourite couple and then I read the next book and find a new favourite couple. I’m so disloyal 😛 But I’m excited for Lover at Last 😀
Thanks for visiting! 🙂
disloyal.. LOL! I’m still Zhadist and Bella 🙂
I am. Very very disloyal. As I’m reading Lover at Last I’m more in love with Blay than ever before…
Oh man, Blay! I’m having a taste of his story and Qhuinn’s now in Lover Enshrined..! woot
Vampire Academy – yay!
Seriously – I think I’d buy anything Richelle Mead wrote. Even the phone book. Pre-ordered The Fiery Heart yesterday.
I see several of my favourite books on here: What’s Left of Me, Vampire Academy, Touch of Power. I’ve read most of these, but I haven;t heard of Dear Cassie, so I shall have to check it out because our taste is so similar!
Ha I have four out of ten this week. Now I have many more to add to my TBR pile.
Thanks for the recommendations
The Fault in Our Stars has been on almost every list I’ve seen because it is GOOD. But would you believe I have not read Divergent? As much as I wanted to, I didn’t like 13 Reasons Why, but I can see why some would and have seen it on lots of lists today.
I have some issues with Thirteen Reasons Why – but I don’t think you need to like a book to recommend it.
You haven’t read Divergent? I loved it – bought a copy of it and the second book, Insurgent, for my sister for Christmas and she liked them. Considering I don’t think she’s ever read a book for pleasure I thought that was pretty awesome. It’s a book I’d recommend for anyone that liked the Hunger Games.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
VA and BDB made my list too (Lover at Last is out TODAY! SQUEEEEE!!)! And, Mythos Academy and Maria V. Snyder’s Healer series are two of my favorites too. Great list!
Here’s my TTT: Top Ten Tuesday at Krista’s Dust Jacket
I’m so excited about Lover at Last! I have such high hopes after the Qhuinn/Blay moments in Tohr’s novel. I hope it lives up to our expectations! 😀 Thanks for visiting and I hope you get your hands on a copy of BDB#11 soon!
This is an awesome list! I love all things MAria V. Snyder, Throne of glass is great too!
My Top Ten Tuesday!
I’ve only read the Healer series by her but I’m considering reading her Study series. It looks great and I’ve heard nothing but good things. Thanks for visiting! 🙂
Vampire Academy!! I cannot believe I didn’t put it on my list – I ADORE THOSE BOOKS.
My Top Ten
I feel like a bit of a pimp right now to be honest – I’m pushing VA onto anyone and everyone I know 😛
Great selection! Of course I love Harry Potter, and The Host is definitely a great one as well. I seem to be one of the only people on earth who didn’t enjoy TFIOS that much … Feel free to check out my recommendations if you feel like it! 🙂
I think TFIOS is one of those books where you have to be in just the right frame of mind to enjoy it. Or maybe you just didn’t like it. I’m that way sometimes with popular books – I don’t quite understand why people love the Catcher in the Rye, Perks of a Wallflower or Atlas Shrugged.
