Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-buy Authors!

TTTLogo

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created atย The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join.

This Week’s Topic:ย : Top Ten Of Your Auto-buy Authors (no matter the genre or what it’s about…you’ll buy it from these authors!).

These are ten of the authors who I will buy anything they write. Even if it was a telephone books. That’s how much I love them.

  • Meg Cabot (I’ve been reading her books for 15 years. I love her style and have bought every book she’s published – even those which were originally published under pen names).
  • JR Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood and Fallen Angels are two of my favourite Urban Fantasy Romance series. These were the books which really started me stalking book blogs and ultimately led to my blogging… despite the fact I’ve never blogged any of her books. I’d buy anything she published)
  • Laini Taylor (She’s a genius. Enough said).
  • Sarah J Maas (I’m such a fan of Throne of Glass and I ADORED A Court of Thorns and Roses. SJM is definitely an auto-buy author of mine)
  • Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles. Need I say more?)
  • Kresley Cole (Her Immortals after Dark series is a favourite of mine. I’ve also enjoyed her YA series The Arcana Chronicles!)
  • John Green (This isn’t because I love his books but because I know everyone will be talking about them and I need to know what happens in them).
  • Libba Bray (Okay… I’m counting down the days until I go buy the next book in the Diviners series. She’s brilliant!)
  • Paula Weston (One of my all time favourite Aussie authors)
  • Kylie Scott (One of my all time favourite Aussie authors)

The problem with this list is that I’ve only listed the first ten authors I’d autobuy which came to mind. There are so many more!

Hope you all have a great week ๐Ÿ™‚ Feel free to leave a comment and a link to your Top Ten Tuesday so I can comment back ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Happy to see Kylie Scott on your list! And lots of us are fans of Sarah J. Maas I see. Paula Weston is new to me but I’m intrigued! Fab list, Kate ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Okay, I haven’t read most of these authors; HOWEVER, Marissa Meyer is totally on my auto-buy list as well. She is so fantastic and she just… I never would have guessed that she’d make it there. I actually still have to read Winter… but I’m excited to see what she does with Heartless this November!

Sarah J. Maas almost made it on my auto-buy list, but not quite. I just haven’t been that interested in the ACOTAR series. (Although, I do love TOG.) I tried another John Green book after I finished The Fault in Our Stars but I couldn’t get into it.

(I need to read A Daughter of Smoke and Bone…)

    • I need to read the most recent Marissa Meyer book. And the most recent Sarah J Maas book. I’m a little behind but that just means I have so many books to look forward to reading!
I think John Green is one of those authors I’m not sure how much I really like him and how much am I dragged into the Nerdfighting-ness by the community. There is so much love for his books and I can understand it but now, thinking about to the books of his I’ve read (and the ones I’ve bought and haven’t gotten around to reading yet) I’m not sure if I loved them or if I loved being apart of the feeling. I went to a special screening of TFIOS full of fangirls and boys and the atmosphere was incredible.

Oh – I love love loved A Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Bought a copy of each of the books and got them autographed for my sister hoping she’d love them as much as I did. She read a few chapters then abandoned them.
